Postpartum life has taught me one thing—a soft life looks different when you have kids.
Right now, I’m 6 months postpartum with a baby and also raising a 7-year-old. That means I can’t completely disconnect from life or follow a perfectly curated routine every day… and honestly, I’m not trying to.
This post is a continuation of the video I just shared where I talk more about my postpartum soft life, outfits, and routine in real time. You can watch it here:

This blog goes a little deeper into what that looks like for me right now, including my realistic weight loss journey after baby.
What a Soft Life Looks Like Postpartum
For me, a soft life isn’t about luxury every day. It’s about creating comfort and peace in a season that can feel overwhelming.
It looks like giving myself grace while my body is still healing, choosing ease where I can, and letting go of the pressure to “bounce back” perfectly.
A big part of that? What I wear day to day.
My Go-To Postpartum Soft Life Outfits
My postpartum wardrobe is all about comfort, function, and still feeling a little put together.
Right now, I’m living in:
- Stretchy leggings paired with oversized tees
- Loose, flowy dresses that don’t feel restrictive
- Soft lounge sets I can wear inside and outside the house
- Nursing-friendly tops that make breastfeeding easier
These outfits help me feel like myself again without adding stress. It’s less about looking perfect and more about feeling comfortable in my postpartum body.
A Realistic Postpartum Daily Routine
This is not a perfect soft life routine. This is a real one.
Mornings usually start when the baby wakes up, not an alarm. I breastfeed or pump, get my 7-year-old ready for school, and grab a quick breakfast—something simple that doesn’t require too much effort.
Midday is a mix of resetting the house, caring for the baby, and trying to squeeze in movement when I can. If I have the energy, I’ll do a walking YouTube video or a quick dance workout at home.
Afternoons are all about school pick-up, snacks, homework, and managing the everyday chaos that comes with parenting two kids. Of course, breastfeeding and pumping are still part of the rhythm.
Evenings are simple—easy dinner, family time, and winding down whenever possible.
Not every day goes like this, and that’s okay. A soft life for me means being flexible.
My Postpartum Weight Loss Journey (161 to 145)
Right now, I weigh 161 pounds, and my goal is to get to 145 pounds. I’m not rushing the process, but I do want to feel stronger, healthier, and more like myself again.
Here’s how I’m approaching postpartum weight loss in a realistic way.
Breastfeeding and Pumping
This is my main strategy right now. Breastfeeding naturally burns calories, and I’ve heard people say it’s like running several miles a day.
I plan to continue breastfeeding my son until he turns 1 year old, and I’m hoping that alone will support gradual weight loss. It also fits naturally into my daily routine, which makes it sustainable.
Calorie Awareness Without Pressure
I’m also counting calories, but not in an extreme way.
I know you need calories to maintain milk supply while breastfeeding, so this isn’t about restriction. It’s about mindfulness. I just want to avoid overeating and stay aware of what I’m consuming.
This approach helps me stay balanced while still supporting my body and my baby.
Finding a Realistic Workout Routine
I’ll be honest—I don’t love working out.
Instead of forcing myself into intense gym routines I won’t stick to, I’m starting with something manageable. I’m doing walking workout videos and fun dance workouts at home whenever I have the time and energy.
I’m still figuring out what consistency looks like for me in this season. I haven’t found my perfect routine yet, but I’m committed to starting somewhere.
Future Plan: Diet Pills After Breastfeeding
Once my son turns 1 and I’m no longer breastfeeding, I do plan to introduce diet pills as part of my weight loss journey.
I have strong feelings about the current push toward weight-loss injections like Ozempic. I’ve been seeing more conversations about possible long-term health effects, and it’s not something I feel comfortable using right now.
In the past, I’ve taken supplements like Hydroxycut and saw results. It gave me energy, helped me stay active, and supported my weight loss when combined with movement.
That’s something I may revisit when the time is right.
Giving Myself Grace During Postpartum
This isn’t about snapping back or chasing perfection.
It’s about moving forward, slowly and intentionally.
Some days I’ll feel motivated. Other days I won’t. But I’m committed to being honest about my journey, adjusting when needed, and doing what works for my life as a mom of two.
I’ll Keep You Updated
This is just the beginning of my postpartum weight loss journey and soft life routine.
I’ll continue sharing updates, what’s working, what’s changing, and how I’m evolving along the way.
If you’re in your own postpartum season, just remember—you don’t have to rush. You don’t have to do everything perfectly.
You’re allowed to take your time.
